Question

70-year-old woman with recent cognitive disorders. Patient has a history of intermittent claudication.

Pre-injection MRI: What is your diagnosis?

ANSWER

It is a tumor lesion with mass effect and significant edema (visible on the non-contrast MRI) and central necrosis. The treating physician is immediately contacted and decides to hospitalize the patient.
